Rated lamp life of ~1,000 hours is under standard operating conditions. Actual life varies with duty cycle, thermal cycling frequency, and operating environment. Replace proactively on a scheduled maintenance interval rather than waiting for lamp failure — output degrades progressively with use before total lamp failure occurs. Do not touch the quartz envelope with bare hands; skin oils create hot spots that shorten lamp life. Allow the lamp to cool for a minimum of 30 minutes after shutoff before handling.
