Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Incure Ultra-Illumina™ UV conformal coatings.
-
Ultra-Illumina™ protects PCBs and electronic assemblies against moisture, condensation, fungal growth, chemical contamination, and thermal cycling. It seals component joints, BGA corners, and display lamination interfaces, preventing corrosion and electrical leakage in harsh environments.
-
Dual-cure means the coating cures both under UV light and by a secondary mechanism — typically moisture cure or heat cure. UV cures exposed areas in seconds, while the secondary mechanism cures shadow areas under components and connectors that UV light cannot directly reach. This ensures complete cure across the entire assembly.
-
Ultra-Illumina™ contains a UV-fluorescent tracer that glows visibly under UV (blacklight) inspection. This allows QC inspectors to verify coverage uniformity, detect missed areas, and confirm coating thickness — without additional dye additives or secondary inspection steps.
-
Ultra-Illumina™ adheres to FR4 PCB substrates, copper, tin, solder, common metals, and most engineering plastics. It is compatible with standard PCB materials and coats evenly over component bodies, solder joints, and connector backshells.
-
Ultra-Illumina™ UV conformal coating grades are rated from −55°C to 80°C, covering the typical service temperature range for electronics in industrial, automotive, and consumer applications.
-
Yes. Ultra-Illumina™ is compatible with manual brush application, selective coating machines, spray systems, and automated time-pressure dispensers. The on-demand UV cure profile makes it well suited to high-speed automated PCB coating lines.
