Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Epo-Weld™ TCG thermally conductive greases.
-
Incure Epo-Weld™ TCG thermally conductive greases are used to fill microscopic air gaps between heat-generating components and heat sinks, heat spreaders, or cooling surfaces. They improve thermal transfer efficiency in power electronics, LED modules, motor drives, and RF amplifiers, lowering junction temperatures and extending component service life.
-
Epo-Weld™ TCG-10 is alumina-filled and electrically insulating — ideal for mounting transistors and rectifiers where short-circuit risk must be eliminated. TCG-30 is aluminum-filled and electrically conductive, suited for grounding connections and low-resistance thermal interfaces. TCG-40 is copper-filled for maximum electrical conductivity, recommended for high-current switches and grounding lugs where voltage drop must be minimised.
-
It depends on the grade. Epo-Weld™ TCG-10 is electrically insulating — the alumina filler conducts heat while blocking current, preventing short circuits in dense PCB layouts. TCG-30 and TCG-40 are electrically conductive due to their metallic fillers (aluminum and copper respectively), making them suitable for grounding and bonding applications.
-
All three Epo-Weld™ TCG grades maintain stable, non-drying performance up to 550°F (288°C). They do not dry out, crack, or lose thermal conductivity under prolonged thermal cycling, ensuring consistent heat transfer performance over the service life of the assembly.
-
Apply Epo-Weld™ TCG greases by spreading a thin, uniform film on the mating surface using a spatula, brush, or automated dispensing equipment. The material should completely fill surface irregularities without excess — excess grease can migrate and contaminate nearby components. No curing is required; the grease provides thermal contact upon mechanical assembly.
-
Yes. Epo-Weld™ TCG-10 is particularly well-suited for high-power LED assemblies and COB modules where the LED substrate must be thermally bonded to a heat sink or PCB core while maintaining electrical isolation. Reducing thermal resistance at this interface directly lowers LED junction temperature, improving light output stability and extending LED lifespan.
