  • A peelable silicone coating is a temporary protective layer applied before manufacturing operations such as sandblasting, machining, anodising, or electroplating. It cures to form a durable film that shields the coated area from abrasion, chemicals, and heat, then peels off cleanly in one piece after the process — leaving no residue on the protected surface.

  • Pyra-Sil™ 894 reaches a tack-free surface in 15 minutes under ambient conditions, with a pot life under 8 minutes after dispensing. Full cure takes 72 hours at room temperature. The rapid tack-free time allows parts to proceed to the masking process quickly without disturbing the coating.

  • Pyra-Sil™ 894 adheres to plastics, wood, and metals, peeling cleanly from all of these surfaces after the finishing operation. It is compatible with aluminium, steel, and engineering plastics commonly used in aerospace and electronics precision manufacturing.

  • Pyra-Sil™ peelable silicone protects surfaces during sandblasting and grit blasting, mechanical machining, chemical milling, electroplating, anodising, and thermal spray coating. The cured film resists abrasive media, chemical baths, and elevated process temperatures encountered in these operations.

  • Pyra-Sil™ peelable silicone is rated from −45°C to 260°C. This wide temperature range ensures the coating maintains its protective properties and adhesion through high-temperature processes while remaining cleanly peelable after the operation.

  • Yes. Pyra-Sil™ 894 is suitable for manual brushing and automated high-volume dispensing systems. Its self-leveling viscosity ensures uniform coverage over flat and moderately contoured surfaces for consistent protection across production batches.
